African Baobabs, Adansonia digitata, are large, long-lived distinctive trees which usually grow as a solitary individuals. This particular stand of ancient trees in the Nxai Pan National Park, Botswana was named after nineteenth century British explorer and artist Thomas Baines who painted them in 1862.
