Savuti Channel, Chobe National Park
The Savuti Channel in the Chobe National Park, Botswana. This erratic river feeds into the Savuti Marsh, a relic of a large inland lake whose water supply was cut long ago by tectonic movements. The channel dries up for long periods then curiously flows again, a consequence of tectonic activity in the area. It is currently flowing and in 2010 reached the Savuti Marsh for the first time since 1982.
